Man robs Welsh Road bank

Armed with a piece of paper and Unabomber-style sunglasses, an unidentified man robbed a Far Northeast Philadelphia bank last Friday.

The heist occurred at PNC Bank, 2401 Welsh Road, according to the FBI. The crook entered the building at about 1:21 p.m., handed a threatening demand note to a teller, obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot. He was last seen heading northbound on Bluegrass Road.

The robber was described as white, about 50 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and thin with a gray sweatshirt, blue pants, a dark knit cap and sunglasses. Call the FBI at 215–418–4000 to report information. ••
